Affliction Gets Crowned as MMA Band of the Year!

IndieSolo.com, a music company dedicated to delivering the world’s best Mixed Martial Arts music, recently crowned Affliction as the top MMA band of the year.

Toronto, Canada, September 29, 2009 --(PR.com)-- IndieSolo.com, a unique independent music site that was the first to brand hard rock and metal music with Mixed Martial Arts, launched a year long music battle to uncover the world’s top MMA song.

After five rounds of intense music battles and over one million online votes, a metal band from Turkey appropriately named Affliction earned the crown as the world’s best ground and pound MMA band. Their song “Raven” faced stiff competition, beating out 250 metal tracks to capture the championship grand prize which included a PRS Guitar and MMA fashion apparel by Brass Knuckle Therapy.

Affliction, a four-member band from Izmir Turkey has been progressively making a mark on the European music scene since their inception in 1999, playing major festivals which supported acts like Slayer and In Flames.

The timing of capturing the title as best MMA band on indieSolo.com could not have come at a better time for Affliction. Emrah Demirel, lead singer and guitarist explains “we were thrilled to hear the official announcement that we won.” The band is currently preparing to go on a 30-day tour in November. The tour will span across all of Europe and Affliction will play in many countries where MMA is becoming more and more popular.

IndieSolo also hosted the first ever MMA Music Stage at Rogers Spring MusicFest that featured Stemm, the band that created the UFC intro soundtrack called “Face the Pain” that starts off each live Pay Per View event.
