just when you thought bands were more focused on the marketing than on the music, along comes moore.
based in toronto, moore is a refreshing blend of musical contradictions. they're gritty yet melodic. unique yet completely accessible. and they're passionately true to the music while consistently true to the fans who crave it.
their driving bass accompanies edgy guitars, strong vocals, and tight drums for a sound and performance that is a fresh alternative to alternative rock.
they've sold out the horseshoe. packed lee's palace. took the rivoli by storm. in between shows, the fans that want more of moore are heading online, downloading tracks and buying cds. and when you meet the band, it's no wonder.
jay - moore vocals
while surrounded by band members who suffer from prolonged nic-fits, this loosely serious singer is addicted to great stories, sleep deprivation, and a funky feline. a true canuck, he's a polite people person and speaks in both official languages. he enjoys the crisp sensation one gets from eating a harvey's salad, pearl jam, and the doors.
sean - moore guitar
while most guys do their business in the bathroom, sean writes his there. maybe it has something to do with the quiet solitude and unlimited access to paper. all in all, he's a rock star who refuses to act like one. he's wise. punctual. and although he rarely speaks, he always answers his phone. he walks slow, thinks fast, smokes faster and enjoys foo fighters and smashing pumpkins.
igor - moore guitar
eastern europe gave us more than large women in headscarves. it also gave us igor and his old-country ways - like his temper, his fondness for soccer hooliganism, and his sole dietary source of energy, meat. his english is as good as his serbian but you'd never know it because of his relentless interpersonal interaction avoidance. he likes turkish coffee and scotch, slipknot, and queen.
andrew - moore bass
like most bass players, andrew is the calm and quiet one who would rather blend into a cloud of cigarette smoke than shine in the spotlight. then again, with his clothing choices, the band kind of prefers he hangs out there, too. in addition to long walks on the beach, this romantic likes tiger army and raised fist.
marco - moore drums
as social as he is, marco would rather be playing drums than the pool party game he was named after. which for all of us is a good thing. marco in water wings is a sight you shouldn't see. but you will like him. he's charismatic, patient, fun, loves cats, and the only thing he won't share is his food. he doesn't like scissors but does like scissor sisters.
