Bio

Waterview is a four-piece rock/hardcore band from Port Stephens, near Newcastle, on the East Coast of Australia.

The band formed in 2003, and played several local and interstate shows before releasing an independant EP in late 2006. It's track "Daybreak" recieved a great response, Stu Harvey of Australian radio station Triple J loved the track so much he played it several times on his radio show, Short.Fast.Loud, aswell as reviewing the track on the bands Unearthed Web Page. After that, the song began to see more frequent airplay on the station and soon won them Unearthed competition for a spot on the Come Together Music Festival at Luna Park, Sydney on the Queens Birthday Long Weekend. The band played alongside such international acts as Every Time I Die, Darkest Hour, Norma Jean and Against Me!. Also on the line-up were locals Something With Numbers, Trial Kennedy, Carpathian, Mindsnare, Jungle Fever and The Porkers, to name a few.

The guys have also supported Australian heavy-weights such as I Killed The Prom Queen, The Amity Affliction, Behind Crimson Eyes, In Fiction, The Daylight Curse and have also played with several up and coming bands, all of which can be found on the band's Myspace page.

Since then the band reached the Number One spot on the Punk Chart of Triple J's Unearthed. Also haveing their tracks added to several U.S compilations, one of which run by well-established punk/indie magazine Skratch.

The band have a large following and fan-base in their home-town of Newcastle, and after a short tour in early 2007, Waterview are slowly creeping into the mainstream music scene of Australia's punk and hardcore acts.
