Bio

Ne plus ultra began as an electronic trip hop project conceived by husband and wife team Don and Johanna Russell. Together with various musician friends providing live instrument accompaniment they released 2006's "The Joy of Swank". It quickly became a fan favorite on myspace.com receiving upwards of 20,000 plays from people across the globe. Inspired by the success of the cd; the musicians who collaborated on "The Joy of Swank" decided to put together a live band to perform the material. It quickly became evident that there was a special chemistry between them that the electronic format couldn't hold a candle to and they immediately set to work retooling the material from the previous release and more importantly writing new material as band. The cd you have before you "66 cc's of swank" is the first fruit of their collective labor. It's a diverse combination of eclectic and heavy, smooth and grindingly brutal. The whole can be described as a wave of unbridled creativity crested by soaring vocals in full three part harmony.
