Story Behind our Band Name

Based on a character from Jack Kerouac's "The Dharma Bums", Japhy Ryder is a Zen poet who embraces life and inspires others to look deeper. After reading the book, Michael was inspired to name the band Japhy Ryder feeling it embodied the spirit of the music. Free, Alive and Electric!
